❝ We are the books we read, the movies we watch, the music we listen to, the people we spend time with, and the conversations we engage in…❞
~ (adapted from) Sandhya Patnala

“In the face of hate and bias, the County of Santa Clara’s Division of Equity and Social Justice (DESJ) offered Mini Grants for individuals and groups to-lead activities that empower vulnerable, marginalized communities and prevent and/or address the concerning rise of hate incidents and acts in Santa Clara County.”

Children start receiving explicit and implicit messages about the meaning of race from birth and begin to show pro-white/anti-Black bias by age three. To counter anti-Black bias and racism, experts recommend naming and taking action against racism with kids as early and as often as possible.

what we're about
Your Modern Library is a hub for multicultural media that promote
inclusion, challenge stereotypes, and inspire activism, character values, critical thinking, and joy!
We aim to fill the Representation Gap in our world as we lift up the voices and creations of historically marginalized people –
Black, Latinx, and Indigenous, but really all who have been mistreated and excluded from the benefits typically reserved for the majority.
The focus being on multiculturalism, all races and cultures are warmly welcome! We are all in this together!
